SEYCHELLES - A COCKTAIL OF TROPICAL ISLANDS

More than 100 tropical islands, scattered over a million square kilometres in the Indian Ocean, make The Seychelles the ultimate paradise. Millions of years ago as India gradually drifted away from the African continent, the Seychelles Archipelago remained poised in magnificent isolation in the warm, crystal waters of the Indian Ocean just south of the Equator.

The area comprises a nucleus of 42 spectacular granitic islands, the cultural hub of the nation, and 73 sparkling sand cays and out-of-the way atolls. Together these form 6 distinct groups of the Inner Islands, the Amirantes, Southern Coral, Alphonse and Farquhar and Aldabra all lying between 480 and 1600 km from the East African coast.
