Day One - Arrive in Antananarivo (Tana). Met and assisted to the Air Hotel Counter for the two hour flight to Anjajavy. On the west coast of Madagascar, 150 km north of Majunga, lies the luxury retreat of Anjajavy Hotel. The Hotel is situated on a peninsula overlooking a wide bay, and is backed by a natural reserve. There are twenty-five air-conditioned villas, each with a large living room, breakfast nook and a bedroom, which opens onto a large terrace that overlooks the sea. The ensuite bathroom has a bath, a shower and a separate toilet. A small stairway leads to a small sitting room with 2 sleeper-couches for children. The main complex comprises a bar/restaurant with an exterior and an interior dining room, a swimming pool, two beaches and a 450-hectare nature reserve. Wildlife viewing here is effortless. Lemurs include the Coquerel's Sifaka, common brown lemurs and mouse lemurs. There are wonderful birds - flocks of bright green grey-headed love-birds, sickle-billed vangas, crested couas and vasa parrots, to name just a few. Reptiles are common including ground boas and hog-nosed snakes and plenty of chameleons. There is a cave, tsingly-like limestone outcrops, extensive mangrove forests as well as beaches and coral reefs. There is a marina for water sports, including water skiing, snorkelling, sailing in a catamaran, wind surfing and scuba diving. There are also boat excursions to the surrounding grottoes, a trip up the estuary to see mangroves, a visit to the "tsingy", guided excursions in 4-wheel drive vehicles through the nature reserve, mountain bikes and the ability to explore the reserve on foot to discover the flora and fauna of the area.Six nights accommodation at Anjajavy on a full board basis including catamaran, water skiing, windsurfing, walks with a guide and bird & lemur watching.
Day Seven - Transfer to the airstrip for the flight to Tana. On arrival in Tana, met and transferred to the Hotel Colbert. Antananarivo (Tana), with its brightly coloured houses stacked up the hillsides, the mauve jacarandas and purple bougainvillea, is an attractive capital city. The rice paddies and zebu-carts on the outskirt, provides a stark contrast to the noisy traffic, bustling markets and colourful people in the narrow cobbles streets of the city centre. Unfortunately, Tana has relatively little in the way of conventional sightseeing. Apart from the Tsimbazaza museum and botanical garden, activities revolve around shopping. The artisans market shows an enormous array of quality Malagasy handicrafts and is well worth a visit. Tana also boasts a lively array of excellent restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The Hotel Colbert is well located in the Upper Town. It offers a unique blend of French tradition and enchanting Malagasy hospitality. All rooms are equipped with satellite television, radio, mini-bar, tea/coffee making facilities, telephone and ensuite bathrooms with hairdryer facilities. The hotel boasts an excellent French Restaurant which has been open since 1928. It also has a more casual cafe with chairs and tables falling out onto the pavement. The cosy bar and international casino adds to the ambiance of this five star hotel. Full secretarial services are also available.Overnight Hotel Colbert on a bed and breakfast basis in a luxury room.
Day Eight -  Half day with driver and English speaking guide to visit some of the places of interest in the City of Tana with an opportunity to shop in the craft market. Transfer to the airport for the flight back home!
