ZAMBIA - THE LOWER ZAMBEZI & CHONGWE RIVER HOUSE

This stunning private house may be the answer. Situated approximately 1 km from Chongwe River Camp itself and built entirely of ferro walls and wild wood is Chongwe River House. The location of the house is at the end of a winter thorn grove, on the banks of the peaceful Chongwe River, a tributary of the Zambezi. The house is also on the park boundry of The Lower Zambezi National Park.
Chongwe River House welcomes families and can individually tailor safari activities for each family. Specific programs are designed for children depending on their ages and interests. There is a whole range of safari activities available including game drives and nature walks to learn to identify animal spoor and droppings, birding for beginners and learning to use spotlights at night.
Families can partake in activities together or the children can be looked after and entertained by the staff. Chongwe House is an ideal place to stay as the privacy it affords means your family can be totally relaxed and feel at home. There is a wide range of children's books and games available including puzzles, cards, swingball and paints. The nearby swimming pool is an ideal place to cool off after a safari.
The Chongwe area is famous for huge male elephants feeding through the winter thorn grove in which the house is situated and this amazing game experience is enhanced by the fact the Chongwe River itself it the main water source for most of the game in the area. From the bedrooms, the sitting room and the deck you will have game in view, feeding and drinking.
