A LEISURELY SOJOURN BY LUXURY TRAIN TO VICTORIA FALLS
Since its establishment in 1989, Rovos Rail has earned an international reputation for its truly world class travel experiences. Step aboard the wood panelled coaches and enjoy fine cuisine in five-star luxury as some of the most varied scenery imaginable unfolds beyond the windows on your journey to Victoria Falls and beyond......
This two-night adventure begins as the train departs Rovos Rail's gracious station at Capital Park in Pretoria. The journey departs in the morning and slowly meanders north towards Warmbaths, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn just after the station of Soekmekaar. Once over the Soutpansberg Mountains, north of Louis Trichardt the train enters Baobab country. Few sights are more evocative of primeval Africa than the eerie silhouette of a Baobab tree starkly outlined against a ruddy African sunset. South African border formalities will take place at Messina and then, very slowly over Beit Bridge, the train will ease itself into Zimbabwe. A visit will be made to the interesting Museum of Natural History in Bulawayo, whereafter the train will continue in a northwesterly direction passing through Thompson's Junction and Hwange Game Reserve to journeys end, the incomparable Victoria Falls on the mighty Zambezi River.

On arrival why not transfer over the border into Zambia and recover from the rigours of the train by spending a coupe of nights at Tongabezi Lodge - a stay here was once described as "worth getting married for"! After this activity you might be ready for a safari to Botswana or perhaps a few days on an island off the coast of Mozambique. Give us a call and let's get planning.
