Kulala Desert Lodge - Sossusvlei & Namib - Namibia

Kulala Lodge is constructed literally "from the earth" and all the colours and designs of the buildings have strong desert and Bushman origins. Accommodation is in thatched East African style tents, all with brick en suite bathrooms. Thatch keeps the tents cool and each room has spectacular views over the usually dry riverbed and the breathtaking dunes, with their incredible rich and changing colours.The main guest area houses the reception, curio shop, lounge, dining room, bar and swimming pool.

Early morning guided game drives to the spectacular dunes at Sossusvlei are via a private gate on the Tsauchab River. Game drives and walks are also offered on the private reserve with incredible scenery, desert game and smaller desert adapted fauna and flora. Spotlit night drives are a highlight. Weather permitting, early morning ballooning is another option offered. The balloon safari of just over an hour offers a truly unique experience, soaring silently above the magnificent desert sand dunes, ending off with a champagne breakfast served at the landing site.
