Mushara Lodge - Etosha - Namibia

Located only eight kilometres from the Von Lindequist Gate on the eastern outskirts of the Etosha National Park, Mushara Lodge is ideally situated for travellers visiting the park. A feature of Mushara is its large, bright blue swimming pool surrounded by green lawns that is occasionally visited by the resident wildlife.

In a horseshoe shape around the swimming pool are ten well-spaced thatched double chalets, two single rooms, one triple room and three single guide rooms. Each chalet is extremely spacious and is furnished with air conditioning, mosquito net, mini bar, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, electric lights, and direct dial telephone. Bathrooms are en suite, seven of the chalets have a shower and three have a bath and shower with separate loo. Great attention has been paid to the decor, which is an eclectic blend of traditional Africana and modern art works combined with original paintings.

The thatched public area consists of a small library, a bar with extensive wine cellar, airy lounge with welcoming fireplace for chilly winter evenings, dining area and well-stocked curio shop. During the summer month's meals are enjoyed on the covered terrace. Another activity available at the Mushara Lodge are two well marked hiking trails which are ideal for the guests who want to stretch their legs, whilst enjoying the sounds and views of the African bush.
