Shooting Star - Zanzibar & Pemba - Tanzania

Situated on the east coast of Zanzibar at Kiwenga, under an hours drive from Stone Town, The Shooting Star Inn is a small, family run hotel and an idyllic place to spend a holiday.

Accommodation is built in traditional Zanzibari style with white lime washed walls, high beamed ceilings and large windows.The spacious en suite cottages are set on a cliff, apart from the main area enabling guests to enjoy the breath taking views in peace. There is one interleading family room, garden and sea view cottages and villas so a wide variety of accommodation to suit most palates. The villas are totally private and you can sleep on the roof under the stars if you feel so inclined…

The open air restaurant and bar have views over tropical gardens to the blue ocean.The menu, which changes daily, offers a wide variety of local and international cuisine, specialising in lobster, grills and excellent smoked fish. For a change from the beach, there is a rim flow pool with spectacular views, a chance of a massage in the spa or you can watch the world go by from the beach bar.

Diving, fishing, snorkelling, wind surfing and kayaking are available and the hotel has bicycles to rent for use exploring the nearby fishing village and market.
