Sanyati Lodge - Lake Kariba & Matusadona - Zimbabwe

Sanyati Lodge is situated alongside the spectacular Sanyati Gorge, the lodge is sheltered by the Matusadona mountain range and overlooks the expansive waters of Lake Kariba.

A combination of stone walls, rough plaster, indigenous timber and thatch has been used throughout the lodge. The individual accommodation lodges which overlook the lake, are very private and offer magnificent views through huge glass panes with minimal framing which open out onto a timber deck. For those seeking that extra touch of the magic that Africa offers.

The central lounge and dining area is located in a grove of shady trees overlooking the lake and a natural water feature. The individual tables overflow from the inside dining area onto the patio to allow for outside dining. A swimming pool is situated on the lower level of the main lodge beside a small bar area.The small curio shop has a stock of essential items as well as a range of unusual crafts and gifts.

There are a variety of activities on offer, if fishing is your passion, the waters of Lake Kariba are home to the much sought after ferocious tiger fish, qualified and experienced guides are on hand to escort you on game walks, drives, and lake cruises in and around the Matusadona National Park where lion, elephant, cheetah , hippo, buffalo and many other species of game can be seen. Or you may choose to take a canoe trip down the Sanyati Gorge and marvel at the rugged landscape.

Sanyati Lodge's location on the eastern side of the Sanyati Gorge offers easy access to Matusadona National Park, renowned for it's appeal as a quiet and secluded wilderness area with an abundance of game and prolific birdlife. Each expedition will bring you close to a wonderful diversity of wildlife. Matusadona is well recognized for its concentration of lion and for the fact that it's one of the last remaining wild sanctuaries of the endangered black rhino.
