Camp Amalinda - Matopos Hills - Zimbabwe

Amalinda is a unique and beautiful camp nestled in the Matobo Hills, just outside Bulawayo. Accommodation is in luxury en suite cave rooms that are made up of natural rock, canvas and wood. Each room has spectacular views across the valleys and access is through small rocky passageways. The main area houses the bar, dining room and open fireplace, whilst a spectacular rock pool and bar in the valley offer respite from the heat of the African sun. One of Amalinda's main attractions is the young African elephant that the camp adopted five years ago. Rescued from a culling programme in Hwange National Park, the elephant have been hand reared since birth. The camp offers guests elephant back safaris at an additional charge. Other activities offered include walking trails, game drives into the nearby national park and rhino conservancy, visits to Rhodes' grave and trips into the local villages and schools.
