Marlin Lodge lies tucked away on the shores of a natural bay on Benguerra Island in the Bazaruto Archipelago and offers the ultimate in luxury, style and exclusivity.
Built on elevated wooden stilts, the lodge overlooks the tranquil Flamingo Bay. Formed hundreds of thousands of years ago, the Bazaruto Archipelago is a result of mass sand deposits by the waters of the Limpopo River, and is now host to over two thousand fish species and over a hundred coral species. From sand dunes to freshwater lakes and acacia woodlands, Benguerra Island is a diverse ecological gem. While nature's finest marine-life swim veiled below the surface of opaque waters, upward the skies are alighted by beautiful birdlife. Marlin Lodge is settled peacefully within its environment like an oasis in perfect harmony with its unscathed surroundings.
The lodge has two distinct types of accommodation, luxury beach chalets and executive beach suites. The chalets, which were introduced last year, are set just above the beach, sea facing, and only a few steps from the white sands of the beach. The suites' sheer size is what makes them so breathtaking, boasting 80sqm floor space and a veranda of 30sqm, these rooms are the perfect haven for the discerning traveller.
There are a wide variety of water sports available including scuba diving, snorkelling, water-skiing, catamaran sailing, kayaking, power-kite flying, island tours, picnics, deep-sea game and salt-water fly-fishing. The deep channels around the island are prolific with marlin, sailfish and other deep-sea game fish, while the coral reefs just offshore boast some of the world's most spectacular natural underwater scenery.
