Elephant Valley Lodge - Chobe - Botswana

Elephant Valley Lodge is a tented safari lodge, comprising twenty luxury tents, situated in the Kasane Forest Reserve on the fringes of a wooded valley. The tents have been custom made, are larger than the standard safari tent and exude an air of spaciousness. Each tent is furnished with two three-quarter or queen size beds, bedside tables with lamps, rugs, hanging space and shelves. Decorated in an eclectic mix of animal prints with touches of teak and wrought iron, they create a stepping-stone to the wilderness outside. The en suite bathrooms have double basins, flush loos and a roomy shower producing an endless supply of hot water at all times of the day. A large shady veranda completes the comfort of these luxurious tents.

Herds of elephants pass by on their traditional route between Hwange and Chobe National Parks. They rest in the valley's shade, wallow in the mud and pose for the quintessential African photo. Leopard and lion also visit, as do many antelope species.

Activities include morning and afternoon game drives both in the forest reserve and the National Park, night drives in the reserve as well as cruises on the  Chobe River.
