Kitich Camp - Mt Kenya - Kenya
Kitich Camp is nestled in a grove of fig trees and is located in the remote Matthews Mountain range in the Northern Frontier district of Kenya. Situated in the Ngeng River valley that is home to a wide range of game that includes elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and wild dog, Kitich is one of the real conservation successes of Kenya and is one that is a direct benefit to the local Samburu community.
Each of the six luxury tents features its own veranda and view with en suite bathroom and outdoor canvas camp shower. Activities at camp revolve around walking in the nearby forests with expert guides and trackers and range from short strolls to vigorous hikes, one of which involves a forty-minute hike to a natural swimming pool. Visiting this remote unspoiled area, walking among elephant and other wildlife in the company of Samburu guides is a spiritual experience never to be forgotten.
