Barra Lodge is situated four hundred and eighty five kilometres north of Maputo in one of the most picturesque areas in Mozambique, with spectacular views of pristine beaches and the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Barra has secluded, unspoilt beaches, bordered by the Inhambane estuary on one side and the sea on the other. The lodge is nestled among groves of coconut trees, whilst the wide open beaches offer endless hours of pleasure.

Boat launching is easy and ski boat fishing is excellent; as a result, Barra often has game fishing competitions.  In addition, the largely unexplored reefs offer fantastic  opportunities for scuba diving and snorkelling. Accommodation consists of traditional casitas made of thatch and brick; each casita is fitted with two beds, en suite shower facilities and all have fabulous views straight onto the beach.

Relax to the sound of the waves gently breaking on the shore or indulge your taste buds at the restaurant. Fresh seafood dominates the menu with prawns, calamari and fresh line fish. The Beach Bar is a popular meeting point, where one can watch the beautiful sunsets, participate in beach volleyball or pub games or simply sip and enjoy exotic cocktails.
