Thornybush offers twenty luxurious suites, each with an en-suite bathroom, outdoor shower and private deck in full view of the seasonal Monwana River. The rooms have been carefully designed so that they are completely secluded from one another.
From groups and families to honeymooners looking for an exclusive safari getaway, Thornybush Game Lodge can accommodate every guest's requirements without compromising on its service delivery.
A surprise bath complete with rose petals, champagne and candles or a private dinner for two in the comfort of your suite are some of the various ways the lodge tries to make Thornybush an unforgettable experience for honeymooners or romantics.
A typical day starts as dawn breaks over the African bushveld. After an early morning wakeup call, coffee, tea & rusks are served on the main deck overlooking the riverbed. Shortly after, guests depart in an open Landrover with an experienced ranger and tracker who will share their extensive knowledge of the bush with you.
After a sumptuous breakfast is served either back at the camp or in the riverbed or bush, guests are offered walks accompanied by an armed ranger and tracker. Walks allow guests a better chance to see some of the smaller creatures of the bush as well as an opportunity to learn more about the flora and fauna of the region.
The afternoon game drive is preceded by high tea and extends into the evening to view seldom seen nocturnal species by torchlight. This is followed by a gourmet dinner, either in the boma, bush or lodge - a wonderful way to round off a days safari.
