Olaf Dambrowski is a guesthouse legend in Cape Town and his new guest house is everything you'd expect from someone with a strong sense of style and luxury. If you want to be treated like royalty while you experience the best of Cape Town, this luxury guesthouse is a good choice.
All seven of the double or twin rooms have en suite bathrooms, air conditioning, bar fridges, TVs with DSTV, DVD players and surround sound systems. Snack boxes, tea and coffee trays and robes and slippers are supplied. There is also a private safe in each room. All rooms are non-smoking. The rooms are individually and indulgently decorated and four of them have private decks. The honeymoon suite is on the top storey of the guest house with a large wooden deck overlooking Cape Town's mountains and ocean, complete with a rose-petal strewn jacuzzi.
Breakfast is served in a light and airy room with a skylight revealing Lion's Head. Dark bent wood chairs upholstered in red are grouped around five dark wood tables laid with French linen and German silver. Alternatively, meals can be taken on your private deck or on the main deck. A full or continental breakfast is served; there is a light lunch menu and dinner is available on request. The bar is a popular gathering place in the evenings and meals are frequently served on the spacious main deck overlooking the sea. If all the good food and wine you enjoy at the guest house and in the nearby Cape Town restaurants leave you feeling a little guilty, just go downstairs to the private gym and do a few laps in the heated indoor pool.
