La Crique is situated in the north of the island on one of Madagascar most beautiful beaches, offering a wonderful ambience in delightful surroundings. Simple accommodation is offered in chalets with reed walls and thatched roofs, all decorated in a charming traditional style. In September one can watch humpbacked whales cavorting offshore.Other activities on the island include bike rides, forest walks and pirogue trips. The little town of Ambodifotatra always yields a few unexpected delights. Club Nautique offers a variety of water sports and entertainment, including parasailing, windsurfing, deep-sea fishing, water-skiing and diving. A visit to the "pirate's cemetery" reveals a hidden history while the excursion to Ile aux Nattes offers visitors a culinary secret of a different kind.
