Tana Plaza Hotel - Antananarivo - Madagascar

The Tana Plaza is situated on the Avenue de L' Independence near the railway station. The hotel boasts a modern bar and an excellent restaurant specializing in French cuisine. Accommodation is provided in small air-conditioned rooms with ensuite facilities. The rooms facing the street are noisy but offer a special sight in the very early hours of the morning.

From about three o'clock, under burning street lights, amid whispered conversations, rural Malagasy can be seen selling their fresh produce.

Fruit, flowers, vegetables, fresh meat and fish along with a couple of other odds and ends are all sold or traded.By dawn, the street is clear and no sign of the market can be seen.
