Camp Kalahari - Makgadikgadi - Botswana
Camp Kalahari is tucked away amongst the acacias and Mokolwane palms of Hyena Island, on the edge of the ancient super lake and adjacent to the Makgadikgadi National Park, is the best way to experience the Kalahari and Makgadikgadi in a fresh and affordable way. It is the ideal camp for those who want fun and adventure, without sacrificing comfort and style.
The style of the camp is refreshingly simple. Cosy, comfortable and traditional "pioneer safaris” style tents each have en suite outdoor showers and flush loos. Guests can relax in a traditionally built thatch library, living and dining area and a separate lounge area strewn with cushions; an ideal area to lie back and unwind
Activities at Camp Kalahari are identical to those at Jack’s Camp. All year round guests can get unbelievably up close and personal with Mma Ramotswe’s incredibly friendly meerkats; walk with Bushmen trackers from the far western Kalahari; do game drives to experience unique desert wildlife and visit Green’s Baobab, one of the famous historical baobabs in the area.
In addition guests can quad bike across the lunar expanse of the pans and sleep out on the pans at night (both restricted to the dry season) while during the wet season, guests can experience the spectacular migration of zebra and wildebeest – the second biggest in Africa and the last remaining in Southern Africa.
