The Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve is Uganda's first protected wildlife area, with habituated chimps, elephants, lion, leopard, buffalo, antelope and the rare forest elephant. The Rift Valley Escarpment, the Ruwenzoris and the southern reaches of Lake Albert flank it.
This part of the Rift Valley is privately owned and so guests have it all to themselves. Night drives promise species like leopard, mongoose and small cats as well as the famed pennant winged and standard winged nightjars.
