Privately owned and within one hundred and thirty odd hectares of nature reserve on the Knysna River, Phantom Forest invites guests to share an environmental experience within a unique bio-diversity of habitat.

Using only sustainable materials and drawing inspiration directly from nature a harmonious balance has been created with ragged thatch roofs rising into the forest canopy, to meandering boardwalks and a freshwater natural pool. Sundowners are spectacular with sunsets and views to match. Share a picnic, canoe on the river or follow the trails through the forest and fynbos. Many bird species and mammals such as bush pig, bushbuck, grysbok and the rare blue duiker inhabit the area.

The tree suites are exquisitely furnished using African textures, from silky Swazi cotton sheets, to hand woven coir carpets. Bathe in the forest bathrooms to the symphony of birdsong or the quiet contemplation of the African night sky.
