Summerwood is situated on the historic oak lined streets on the outskirts of the Stellenbosch village. With the stunning Helderberg Mountains as a backdrop, guests are accommodated in beautifully appointed, en suite bedrooms. Enhanced by a crystal pool, the informal living area is open to guests, who are invited to make themselves at home.

The ideal base from which to explore the surrounds, the wine farms of both Paarl and Franschhoek are within half an hour drive either side of Stellenbosch. Historic, scenic and interesting, one can spend hours walking the old cobble lanes or picnicking on the estates – several of which arrange a ready packed picnic lunch with the local wines. Then of course, there are the wines … plenty of which have won international awards and recognition. Farms are happy to do tastings and cellar tours at a small fee.
