Rodwell House is tucked away in the village of St. James between the Kalk Bay Mountains and False Bay, and area that is world famous for whale-watching, warm sea bathing and a sheltered Mediterranean climate. This boutique guesthouse is secluded within a walled acre of pristine gardens and yet only a stroll away from a variety of day and night activities.

The first floor of Rodwell House has wide welcoming terraces and public rooms including an inviting drawing room and library as well as the new modern Bistro. The entire guesthouse is an art gallery and features an eclectic collection of South African master art and contemporary pieces. The rooms are subtle and quiet while the public areas are vivid with varied colours and moods. Period fireplaces, teak panelling and a magnificent staircase, feature amongst the impeccable furnishings and decor.

Rodwell House is and easy drive from top vineyards and gold medal restaurants and while out of the Cape Town, the city is only thirty minutes away. Simonstown and Cape Point are also within easy reach.

The guesthouse is impeccably furnished and guests can luxuriate in unabashed comfort and privacy. Leisure rooms, terraces, gym, petanque field and a swimming pool fed by a mountain stream are available for use by guests and the Bistro is open for lunches and dinners. Guests can take an energising mountain stroll or a refreshing dip in the tidal pool below the gardens and then dine on freshly grilled off-the-boat linefish and aged Montrachet.For the energetic there is a well equipped and vibrant gym in the basement which in turn is adjacent to the small bar and cellar where a considerable collection of imported wine is housed.
