Kings Pool Camp - Botswana - The Linyanti
Kings Pool Camp, located in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve and bordering the western boundary of Chobe National Park in northern Botswana, is characterised by lush grasslands, riverine forest, mixed terminalia woodland and the dry Savuti Channel. The area is noted for very large elephant populations along with impala, lechwe, kudu, zebra, giraffe, sitatunga, sable, roan, waterbuck, buffalo and antelope. The camp overlooks the flourishing hippo-filled Kings Pool Lagoon and the Linyanti River system and is one of the noisiest in Africa with everything from pre-dawn bird-song, to elephants trumpeting and lions roaring around the camp at night. Each of the ten-tented rooms is built on a raised deck and has private bathrooms with an additional outdoor shower. One the highlights of the camp, and a firm favourite with guests, is the underground hide overlooking a waterhole. Guests can enjoy wildlife viewing close up, at toenail level, from the safety of the hide.
