St Catherine's Monastery - St Catherine - Egypt - Sinai
The jewel in the Sinai's crown is undoubtedly St Catherine's Monastery that was built in 537 AD. Today, twenty monks run the monastery, and it is they who are the keepers of the great basilica within the fortress. We recommend guests to spend the night in the simple, clean accommodation of St Catherine's Village and climb Mount Sinai in the early morning or evening when sunrise and sunset views from the summit are spectacular.
