Kichwa Tembo Bateleur Camp - Kenya - The Masai Mara
Overlooking the endless plains of the Masai Mara and shaded by a dense forest canopy, Bateleur Camp is an oasis of Hemingway-style tents nestled below the Oloololo Escarpment and close to the Mara River. It is in a vast conservation area adjoining the Masai Mara National Park and the local Masai people earn revenue from visiting guests. Each of the nine luxurious tents is tastefully furnished with a large double bed in the centre, overhead fans and a separate shower tent with flush loo whilst their verandas offer sweeping views over the greatest grassland system on earth. Besides witnessing the ancient and often tragic spectacle of the migration, other marvels include black-maned lions, cheetah, giraffe, elephant, red-tailed monkeys and a host of antelope. During your stay enjoy game drives, a bushwalk with resident guides and naturalists to reveal the wonders of the ecosystem or visit a Masai cultural village.
