Samburu Intrepids is set in the semi arid desert of northern Kenya in the quiet western section of the Samburu National Reserve. Shaded by tall acacias fringing the Uaso Nyiro River, the lodge is a cool oasis in the desert surroundings. Only fifty minutes flight from Nairobi, this luxury tented lodge has been designed to recreate the romance and charm of an East African safari as undertaken in the early part of the century. Set under the shade of trees the twenty five tents are elevated on individual decks overlooking the river and have wooden decks with reclining chairs with sweeping views over the river where herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra come daily to drink. There are four-poster beds draped with mosquito nets, overhead fans and double basins and flush loos in the en suite bathrooms. The camp is set in luxuriant vegetation that has been trained into lovely gardens.
