Elephant Watch Camp - Kenya - Samburu And Shaba
Elephant Watch Camp sits on the northern bank of the Uaso Nyiro River in Samburu National Reserve, seven kilometres upriver from Dr Iain Douglas-Hamilton's Save The Elephants Research Centre. The camp lies in the heart of Northern Kenya's elephant country and provides unprecedented access to Samburu's elephant families. The Elephant Watch guides know virtually all of these animals by name, and guests are taken right into their midst, tracking their movements through sophisticated satellite technology. Surrounded by large acacia elatior trees, under which big bulls often congregate, the camp features five spacious en suite desert-style tents with beds made from old "driftwood" trees and a stunning mess tent decorated with local fabrics and acacia furniture.
