Ankarana Camp - Ankarana National Park - Madagascar - Northern Madagascar
At Ankarana visitors' days are spent exploring the reserve on foot with your guide. A visit to the "tsingy"(cave) is a must. Boardwalks have been constructed to allow safe and easy passage and at the same time protect the fragile rock while guests admire the succulents. There are a number of caves, one with a fairyland of stalagmites and stalactites, one with bats and supposedly one with crocodiles. All are worth a visit. Our guides supply head torches and slowly lead guests through the dark and sometimes small passages.
At Ankarana we provide accommodation in the National Park campsites. Your guide will erect your tent, each with comfortable bed and bedding and will also erect shower facilities for your private use. Toilet facilities though are communal. The cook prepares tasty meals, which are enjoyed around the campsite picnic table. There are few moments more special than lying in your tent at night listening to the lemurs tossing around in the trees tops above.
