Reaching Bush House, situated in Ankany Ny Nofy (the Nest of Dreams) is an adventure in itself. The journey involves an interesting boat trip through the fresh water lakes and canales of the Pangalanes, affording passengers the opportunity to view daily village life on the banks of the river. Bush House is situated on a piece of land half way between the sea and the fresh water of Lake Ampitable. Built from local materials it is well hidden in the forest and provides accommodation in bungalows and rooms, all with private facilities. A generator produces power while meals are prepared on open fires and gas appliances. Activities include a wide range of water sports, hikes to local villages, trips to the sea and an excursion to view the lemurs, reptiles and interesting plant life in the Bush House Reserve.
