The Tana Plaza is situated on the Avenue de I' independence near the railway station. The hotel boasts a modern bar and an excellent restaurant specializing in French cuisine. Accommodation is provided in small air-conditioned rooms with en-suite facilities. The rooms facing the street are noisy but offer a special sight in the very early hours of the morning. From about three o'clock, under burning streetlights, amid whispered conversations, rural Malagasy can be seen selling their fresh produce. Fruit, flowers, vegetables, fresh meat and fish. By dawn, the street is clear and no sign of the market is to be seen.
