Liwonde National Park is one of the finest wildlife reserves in Malawi. Situated in the south of the country, Liwonde incorporates the huge Shire River, the main outlet from Lake Malawi, which winds along the floor of the Rift Valley. Mvuu Lodge is situated on the banks of the Shire River and accommodation is in five East African-style walk-in safari tents, with en suite facilities. The lounge and dining area is raised to overlook the river, as is the campfire area. The lodge also has a pool for those really hot days. The lodge's activities range from boating on the river to walks and game drives where you can expect to see a huge variety of birdlife, large herds of elephants, crocodiles, hippos and numerous species of plains game. Children over the age of eight are welcome.
