Hatari Lodge - Tanzania - Arusha - Mount Meru
Hatari Lodge is set between Africa's two most gigantic peaks, the legendary Mount Kilimanjaro and the spectacular Mount Meru. The position of Hatari is also famous for the old Hollywood film "Hatari" starring John Wayne and Hardy Krüger. Hatari has a wooden walkway on stilts with a viewing platform, overlooking Momella so that guests can have an undisturbed and unique game experience. Momella attracts animals year-round, including buffalo, waterbuck, giraffe and occasionally herds of elephant. The main building also has elevated terraces; one to the front of the building facing Mt Meru in the morning which his used for breakfast and the other facing Momella and Kilimanjaro which his used for lunch and sundowners. Daily game drives to the Ngurudoto crater and to the Momella lakes are offered as well as guided walks into the rainforest and to track buffalo. Other activities include canoeing and cultural visits to the Masaai and Meru villages. Hatari Lodge is malaria free, has year round game with the largest population of giraffe in Tanzania and has some of the best views on offer in Africa.
