Hog Hollow Country Lodge - Near Plettenberg Bay - Garden Route - South Africa

Hog Hollow Country Lodge is situated in a private nature reserve not far from the local town of Plettenberg Bay. Set on the edge of an indigenous forest, the lodge has breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and the Tsitsikamma Mountains. Accommodation is in whitewashed cottages, with ethnic styling, en-suite facilities and with small fireplaces and wooden decks overlooking the ravine. The food is superb and is served under the auspices of co-owner and chef, Mark. The main lodge houses the bar, huge yellowwood dining table, the sitting room, library and the pool terrace – again, all with incredible views.

Abundant birdlife and marked walking trails make Hog Hollow a nature lover's paradise. The house is few minutes' drive from the famous Monkeyland (a primate sanctuary in natural forestry lands backing onto the reserve) and the stunning beaches of Plettenberg Bay. There are several specialist activities that can be arranged from Hog Hollow, including flips in light aircraft to see dolphins in the bay and boat cruises on the Keurbooms River.
