Set at the top of Umdoni Park, one of South Africa's most picturesque golf courses, Lynton Hall has a rich and varied colonial history. Originally the home of sugar baron, Sir Frank Reynolds, the house has been host to royalty, prime ministers and was selected by King George VI and his family for his recuperation in 1952. The "Chequers" of South Africa, Botha House is also on the estate and was given to the nation by Reynolds to be used by its presidents and prime ministers. Lynton Hall has nine luxury superior suites with air-conditioning, telephone, TV and a mini bar. Their award-winning restaurant serves sumptuous food and Richard Carsten is one of a handful of 5-star rated chefs in South Africa.
