Hacklewood Hill - Port Elizabeth - South Africa - Eastern Cape
Hacklewood Hill Country House, built in 1898, is classic country house set in the buzzing but lush suburb of Walmer. The English country gardens and classic setting - the building is one of the few remaining Victorian manor houses in Port Elizabeth - will take you away from the hustle and bustle of life outside this little retreat. The spacious bedrooms offer unsurpassed luxury in the classic country house tradition and include air-conditioning, heating and percale linen. The elegance of the Victorian era is continued in the spacious en-suite bathrooms, which have separate showers, and heated towel rails. Each bedroom has views of the magnificent garden, prolific with bird life.
In the quiet privacy of Hacklewood Hill Country House, you may choose to relax in the beautifully appointed lounge, read in the garden, take an invigorating dip in the pool or enjoy a game of tennis whilst our caring staff see to your every need. Think antiques, cosy fireplaces, Persian rugs and a breathtaking candelabra. Our two new style South African chefs combine international standards with a South African flair. Expect starched white linen, cut glass and silver service. For wine connoisseurs there's also an impressive collection of wines housed in the authentic cellar.
