Londolozi Varty Camp - Mpumalanga - South Africa

Varty Camp is part of the historic Londolozi Safari Lodge. The eight luxurious chalets and four gracious suites are all air-conditioned with en suite bathrooms, and each has its own private deck and plunge pool.

Varty Camp was built on the site of the original hunting camp, as a tribute to the early beginnings of Londolozi, with the lounge area offering magnificent views across the Sand River. Four rondavels dating back to the original Sparta Hunting Camp are a special feature of the camp. One has been turned into a traditional bedroom and the others are now a museum, a well-stocked wine cellar, and an internet centre. The camp also has a central swimming pool and a curio shop/gallery.

Leafy tranquility pervades the camp, with the enormous boughs of an ancient ebony tree emerging through the main deck, and towering above the thatch roof. This organic compilation of deck and living wood epitomizes Londolozi's concern for "treading lightly" and building around natural features. Twice daily game drives in open 4x4 vehicles and bush walks with highly trained rangers and trackers, ensure that guests see all that the world famous Sabi Sands Game Reserve has to offer.
