Sausage Tree Camp - Zambia - Lower Zambezi National Park
The large white tents of Sausage Tree Camp sit high on the riverbank of the Zambezi. These are marquees for connoisseurs of canvas and combine with all of the creature comforts. Spacious and cool, the tents are simple and stylish. The view is over the river and a field of reeds, channels dotted with water lilies and huge pods of hippo, buffalo and elephant. Sausage, mahogany, acacia and rain trees help form the thick forest that surrounds the camp and creates the perfect environment for the many lion, leopard, porcupine, honey badger and wild dog... that inhabit the area. The cry of the African fish eagle often cuts through the air - perhaps a reminder of the superb fishing!
