Big Cave Camp - Matobo Hills - Zimbabwe - Matopos Hills
Located in the magnificent scenic Matobo Hills and set in 2,000 acres of wilderness, Big Cave Camp has seven comfortable A-frame, stone under thatch chalets. Each has its own en-suite bathroom and private balcony with panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. The Matobos are home to an impressive array of wildlife, birdlife and magnificent flora. In the nearby small, but well stocked Matobos Hills National Park, black and white rhino are ever present with the fortunate also seeing leopard. The spectacular granite outcrops house numerous secret passages and rock shelters offering a rich historic experience: from 20,000-year old rock paintings of the San bushmen, to relics of the times of Lobengula and later Cecil John Rhodes. Cultural visits to an Ndebele village and to the Cyrene Mission can also be arranged with donations given to the village.
