LUXOR & THEBES [Egypt]
Luxor is filled with the awe-inspiring array of monuments of ancient civilization - a testament to the desire for immortality. Built in sandstone and granite, the temples, tombs and palaces are surrounded by souks and luxury hotels.
Today visitors can walk through history, past statues of gods and animals, beneath pillars carved with lotus buds and papyrus, ride in a horse-drawn khalesh, sail in a felucca, or bask in the romance of a sunset cruise or a hot air balloon ride. Thebes is home to the Valley of the Kings and Queens, a giant necropolis of buried royals and nobles. We highly recommend a visit to this area as there is so much to see against a backdrop of almost 7 000 years of history.
