A waterfront city that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, its ambience and cultural heritage distance it from the rest of the country, although it is only two hundred and twenty five kilometres from Cairo. Today, traces of all these pasts remain, where visitors can eat seafood, take a tram to view Roman ruins or drink coffee in European style coffee shops and cafes.
