This area offers unique vistas of rounded, rugged hills and undulating plains.

The mix of wood and grassland with riverine forest and swamp is home to a wide variety of animal and birdlife. Game viewing and visibility is excellent: Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy's Zebra, elephant, oryx, Somali Ostrich, hippo, crocodile, gerenuk, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena are some of the many species in the reserve.

The Ponds In Africa One of the greatest things about safaris is that you never know what‘s going to happen next. Almost the first thing we saw was a huge matriarch elephant scratching her bottom on a jagged tree stump, a look of utter bliss on her face. The second, a randy young lion trying to get frisky with an older female and getting a great clout across the face from a huge paw as she rejected him.
