REGIONS : Isle Ste Marie [Madagascar]

ISLE SAINTE MARIE [Madagascar]

The tiny "garden island" of Isle Sainte Marie, with its coconut palms and lush vegetation, is pure paradise. Pristine beaches with secluded bays make this an ideal honeymoon destination.

There is only one small town, situated 15 minutes from the airport and a wonderful selection of hotels range from charmingly simple to exclusively luxurious. Mystical stories and a rich history of pirates and shipwrecks weave a marvellous sense of the island's tradition. Exploration of the island can be taken by canoe, by bicycle or on a scooter. Divers and snorkellers enjoy the underwater world and between July and October humpback whales can be seen in the channel between Isle Sainte Marie and the mainland of Madagascar. The tranquillity of the island and the beauty of the beaches make it the perfect destination for family holidays.
