MOUNT KILIMANJARO [Tanzania]
"As wide as the world, great, high and unbelievably white in the sun, the square top of Kilimanjaro." - Ernest Hemingway
Mt. Kilimanjaro is a vision that has fed the human imagination for years. Much more than the highest mountain in Africa, it is symbolic. Writers render it, climbers conquer it and Africans worship it. Rising 19,340 ft (5895 m) above the African plain, Kilimanjaro truly stands alone among the mountains of the world. Though its size is immense, it also has one of the world's most accessible peaks. People who are in good shape can make the ascent to its summit in a matter of days.
The lower slopes of the mountain are defined by coffee and banana fields that rise up and end where the mountain's forest begins. Tree ferns in this region are known to grow up to 20 feet, and giant lobelias often reach 30 feet. Higher up, the forest gives way to grasslands and shrubbery, and elephant can sometimes be spotted roaming the high slopes. At about 13,000 feet life begins to recede, a result of extreme weather conditions inhospitable to anything more than small mosses and lichens. It is highly advisable to take the mountain slowly.
We use only the best operators and guides for our climbs and can arrange a safari or beach holiday to relax before or after your climb.

![]() | PRESS RELEASE: Exclusive African safari consultants, Pulse Africa, are expanding their services to their clients, by creating a private guiding division. |
![]() | The Lemosho Route is a very beautiful and unspoilt route that still enjoys sighting of wild game along the forest section. For those seeking a quiet route away from the crowds it clearly a superior option for the first two days of movement. Thereafter however, the route is precisely the same as the Machame Route. The start point of the Lemosho Route is particularly inaccessible during the wet season and climbers should be prepared to walk the final 2-5 kilometres of the road following heavy rains. The journey time to reach the start point is quite long and joined to the possibility of not reaching the end of the road by vehicle head torches may well be needed to reach Forest Camp on day 1. |
Our exclusive selection of properties range from comfortable, luxurious, exclusive and extravagant. The green symbol indicates exclusively yours properties that can be all yours.
