Today visitors can walk through history, past statues of gods and animals, beneath pillars carved with lotus buds and papyrus, ride in a horse-drawn khalesh, sail in a felucca, or bask in the romance of a sunset cruise or a hot air balloon ride. Thebes is home to the Valley of the Kings and Queens, a giant necropolis of buried royals and nobles. We highly recommend a visit to this area as there is so much to see against a backdrop of almost 7 000 years of history.
