Itinerary

Day One

Depart Heathrow for Nairobi with Kenya Airways, British Airways or Virgin. This flight could be overnight or during the day.

Day Two

Upon arrival in Nairobi you will be met by a company representative and transferred to Wilson Airport for your flight to Amboseli. You will be met on arrival in Amboseli and transferred to Tortilis camp.

Tortilis Camp is an exclusive tented lodge in an area adjoining Amboseli National Park. This luxurious hillside camp is named for the trees under which it is built, acacia tortilis, and looks out over the plains of Amboseli across into Tanzania.

Guests can relax in the main lounge or around the swimming pool and bar which looks out over the awe inspiring view of Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. Alternatively, one can experience the same magnificent view from your tent, which is naturally screened by trees and shrubs, ensuring complete privacy. Each of the seventeen tents has a private veranda and is furnished with large, comfortable beds, elegant bathrooms with steaming hot showers and modern w/c’s. Your personal butler will look after your every need, ensuring your stay is memorable one.

Tortilis Camp is renowned for its delicious homestyle cuisine, using only the freshest herbs and vegetables grown in the camp’s gardens.

The chef has been trained in good Italian home cooking and specialises in carefully prepared homemade pastas, a Tortilis speciality. Over three hundred species of birds live in the area, including waterfowl which inhabit the year-round springs in the camp grounds. Game around the camp is wonderful and can be viewed by the guests on game drives and walks.

Spend two nights at Tortilis Camp in a standard tent on a full board basis including game activities as offered by the camp.

Day Four

An early start this morning as you are transferred to Amboseli airstrip for your flight to Wilson Airport in time to connect with to your flight to the Maasai Mara.

On arrival in the Maasai Mara you will be met by a camp representative and transferred to Elephant Pepper Camp.

Kenya’s premier game reserve and wilderness area, the Maasai Mara is the northern section of the great Serengeti/Mara ecosystem. The fertile plains of the Mara are threaded with verdant green riverine forest and dotted with clusters of croton supports, and enormous amount of plains game and predators. Every year, driven by a force incomprehensible to man, nearly two million wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara River from Tanzania to graze on the lush grass - a wildlife spectacle unrivalled anywhere in the world.

It is on the Koyiaki group ranch adjoining the Mara that Cheli and Peacock have their Elephant Pepper Camp. The eight-tented private camp is hidden in a grove of Warburgia ugandensis trees and offers visitors fully en suite facilities. You are spoilt by friendly, attentive staff who bring you steaming hot water for your canvas bucket showers, prepare sumptuous meals and offer you your favourite ice cold cocktail as you relax around the camp fire in the evenings. Bush breakfasts, picnics and sundowners are arranged at some beautiful viewpoint where you can soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the bush whilst enjoying every comfort.

During your stay, explore the area in 4x4 safari vehicles in search of the Big Five. Enjoy an exciting and interesting guided nature walk to see the smaller, yet no less intriguing inhabitants of this incredible eco-system where everything down to the tiniest beetle plays its part. Afternoon game drives include sunset drinks and a return drive to camp after dark, giving you the chance to catch a few of the nocturnal creatures emerging such as the aardvark, bush-baby and genet cat.

Spend three nights at Elephant Pepper Camp in a standard tent on a full board basis including game activities as offered by the camp.

Day Seven

Enjoy a morning at leisure before your early afternoon flight to Mombasa Airport. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Ocean Sports.

Ocean Sports was founded in 1952, when Ian Pritchard called into Watamu and decided to set up a drinking hole on the beach and called it ‘Ocean Sports’. The original boat he sailed in still stands prominently in the bar and many fishermen tell a tale around this famous boat. The walls of the bar display some of the famous and elaborate catches from the ocean where the resort resides.

Ocean Sports has grown over the years but remains one of the few privately owned establishments. The hotel has been taken over, but the new owners are passionate to maintain the overall "feel and charm” making changes to enhance Ocean Sports from a hotel to a boutique resort. The hotel sits on a stunning section of the Indian Ocean Beach front with breathtaking views of the Ocean from the new veranda and deck area. This beach is protected by the National Marine Park

The boutique resort offers first class service and food providing a unique atmosphere and ambience. It hosts friendly and relaxed but professional service ensuring guests and friends return time and time again.

Spend three nights at Ocean Sports in a standard room including dinner and breakfast.

Day Ten

Spend the day at leisure soaking up the sun before your afternoon transfer to Malindi Airport for your flight back to Nairobi.
