KENYA - MASAI MARA AND MOMBASA - EX LONDON

An ideal short break from London with a couple of days on safari in The Masai Mara and five nights chilling on the beach in Mombasa.
  

Day One  

Arrive in Nairobi and transfer via light aircraft to Little Governors, a camp well known for its exclusivity and quality of service. The camp consists of seventeen large; airy tents each with their own en suite bathroom. Your room steward ensures your comfort and every morning wakes you with tea and croissants to sustain you during your early morning game drive. Setting off at dawn you watch the mists slowly lift to reveal the rolling plains dotted with their wide variety of plains game and maybe a pride of lion or herd of elephant in the distance. You may like to take a balloon journey at dawn from the launch site beside the camp and float over the plains threaded with the dark green ribbon of the Mara River as game meanders in every direction below you. On landing a gourmet breakfast is served, cooked over the balloon's gas burner, and washed down with champagne. Your afternoon game drive starts at approximately three thirty and continues until sunset, so spectacular in the Mara, and possibly longer if you are following some exciting action. Return to camp for a hot shower before sundowners around the campfire. A sumptuous four-course dinner served amidst the sounds of an African night rounds off a perfect day. Overnight for two nights - options to extend at appx 220 pounds per person per night.  

Day Three

After a morning game transfer directly by light aircraft to Mombasa's Diani Beach and the magnificent Leopard Beach Resort. Set amidst thirty acres of lush tropical gardens, the hotel offers accommodation in 155 air-conditioned rooms with most having panoramic ocean vistas and views of one of the most stunning beaches in Kenya. The higher cliff top levels of the hotel host the reception area and tennis courts while the lower levels descend to the beach via a series of timbered boardwalks and bridges traversing lily ponds and cool grottoes to emerge at the poolside. The hotel boasts a variety of different restaurants, massage and beauty parlours, a selection of water sports, deep sea diving and fishing. There is also a nearby 18-hole golf course. Overnight for five nights - options to extend at appx 55 pounds per person per night.

Day Eight

Home time today with flights from Mombasa via Nairobi arriving back in London the following morning.
